How a commission works
How do I see and approve the drawing before it is engraved?
Nothing is engraved until you say yes. The system enforces it: a commissioned order cannot be marked as engraved while its proof is unapproved.
How it goes:
- You write a brief and add any reference pictures.
- Our illustrator draws your cover.
- We email you a proof to look at.
- You say yes, and then we engrave it and post it.
The proof arrives by email with the drawing attached, so you can look at it on your phone without going anywhere. The same email carries a link to your own order page, and the approve button lives on that page and deliberately not in the email. Mail scanners and link previewers follow every link in every message, and a scanner must never be able to start a laser, so approving takes a confirmation screen and a button press by a person.
If it is not right, say so. There is a box on the same page for asking for a change. Your message goes to the illustrator, and nothing is engraved in the meantime.
There is no deadline on you. The turnaround we quote is our promise about drawing, not a clock on your reply. The link itself works for 90 days; if it has lapsed by the time you need it, email us and we will send you a new one.
Not the answer you needed? Send us a message and a person will read it. Our delivery and returns statement and our terms carry the full position on anything summarised here.
