Who we are

You're buying from YourNotebook, a trading name of THECARDGENIE.COM LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17299111), trading as YourNotebook. Our email and postal address are at the bottom of this page. By ordering you agree to these terms (the version live when you ordered). You need to be 18 or over, and we deliver to UK addresses only.

What you can buy

• Notebook: an A5 vegan leather notebook, engraved to order, £17.99.
• Gift set: the notebook plus a matching engraved pen, spare refill, box and gift bag, £24.99.
• Commissioned cover, £24.99 instead of the notebook price. Our illustrator draws your brief and emails you a proof to approve before we engrave. Please allow 7–10 days.
• Gift wrap, £3.50 (no printed message card).
• Corporate orders with the same logo design: 10% from 5, 15% from 16, 20% from 26, 25% from 101.

Ordering and paying

Our contract starts when we email to confirm your order. You pay in full at checkout. We are not registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged and the prices shown contain none. Postage is shown before you pay (£2.75 for a notebook, £3.49 for a gift set, depending on the service you choose). If we can't make your order, or a price was obviously wrong, we'll refund you in full.

Your words and pictures

We engrave exactly what you approve on the preview, and engraving is permanent, so do check the spelling.

Only send words and pictures you have the right to use, with the OK of anyone pictured. If something you send breaks someone else's rights and we get a claim, you cover what we genuinely lose. There are a few things we won't engrave (our content policy lists them), and if we turn an order down you get a full refund.

Your content stays yours, and we only use it to make your order (see our privacy policy).

Delivery

Your order is dispatched within 1 working day, monday to thursday. Choose in your basket:

• Standard, £2.75, on Royal Mail Tracked 48, 2–4 working days
• Priority, £6.95, on Royal Mail Tracked 24, 1–2 working days
• Locker collection, £2.75, by InPost locker, 2–4 working days

Standard and Locker collection are free on 2 books or more. We'll deliver within 30 days of confirming your order, or you can cancel for a refund. The only exception is a commissioned cover, which can take longer: we'll agree the delivery date with you when we take the brief. The parcel is our responsibility until it's delivered. Changing your mind

Made just for you, so no change-of-mind returns. Your notebook is engraved with your words after you order, so the usual 14-day right to cancel doesn't apply to personalised items. We'd rather you heard that before you buy. Give the preview a proper look, because the engraving is permanent.

Caught it before we've engraved it (or before you approve a commission proof)? Email us quickly and we'll cancel and refund in full.

If something's wrong

This does not affect your legal rights. If your order arrives faulty, damaged or not as described, you're entitled to a repair, a replacement or your money back, and we'll put it right, personalised or not.

Please email us first with your order number so we can put it right.

The small print

• Nothing in these terms limits our liability where the law says we can't. Otherwise we're responsible for foreseeable loss caused by us getting it wrong.
• Buying for a business? Then you are not one of the consumers these rights are for. We're not liable for loss of profit, business or goodwill.
• If something outside our control holds us up, we'll tell you and agree a new date or refund you.
• Map designs use data © OpenStreetMap contributors (Open Database Licence, opendatacommons.org/licenses/odbl) and © Mapbox (mapbox.com/about/maps).
• Complaints: email hello@yournotebook.co.uk.
• These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you can use your local courts.
• We may update these terms; the date at the top tells you when.
